A museum dedicated to the late Fujiko F. Fujio, creator of the beloved Japanese icon, Doraemon, is planned to be erected in Kawasaki and scheduled to be opened on September 3, 2011.
The 3-storey museum with an area space of 5,500 sq. meters will house 50,000 original drawings and items left behind by the late mangaka.
The late Fujiko F. Fujio was born in the Toyama Prefecture then moved to Kawasaki in 1961 where he lived for three decades until his death in 1996.
